Second stay here. Helpful staff, comfortable, quiet room, old-school European charm, ideal location a block from Washington Square Park. It suits us perfectly. Windows that open are a plus. This trip we were on the second floor facing the street and couldn't believe how quiet it was.

Hotel was noisy could hear everything going on outside of room—rooms were incredibly small — they had to move me to a different room the second night that was next to the elevator( I asked the front desk if that was a problem being near the elevator as I was 5 months pregnant —they said no that the room was fine) —of course it was not —I could not sleep the entire night because of the noise from the door at the elevator— when I was checking out the next day they told me to call to talk to a manager about compensation for the 600 and some dollars a night terrible stay—took me over 3 weeks of back and forth leaving messages and having managers tell me they would call me back later that day they never did ( this happened 5 times) finally got to speak to one where they just fought me telling me they have never had anyone complain about noise in that room ( a lie because you can see on the reviews there are many complaints about it being noisy) they offered me $100 credit for my terrible stay —- very disappointed would not recommend staying here —I travel all the time and this staff was not kind, understanding or accommodating— sad because the location is perfect in that area!

I came in on a Saturday at 4. The bar is cozy and intimate, so that’s good. I sat in a booth next to the bar. No one came. So I went up to the bar assuming they don’t have table service. I was charged $21 for a Manhattan (!!!) and had to ask for a glass of water. After I took my drink back to my table the same bartender came over to a couple of women who just sat down behind me. So apparently the service varies depending on gender. In sum: the atmosphere is lovely, the service may not be, and it’s very overpriced.

Quarto muito pequeno, mofo no banheiro, janela minúscula que dava para uma parede de tijolos. Escuro, sombrio e sujo. O próprio hotel tem um bar / restaurante com uma lareira aconchegante ao lado do lobby. Se você quiser visitar este local histórico, faça o que todo mundo faz e apenas aproveite a área do bar e da lareira - estava lotado. Há muitos outros hotéis (agradáveis e limpos) para ficar que estão a uma curta distância deste local. Se você realmente precisa ficar aqui, não se preocupe em reservar direto e pagar a tarifa mais alta, como fizemos. Havia opções muito mais baratas em outros sites de reserva. Fomos direto na esperança de evitar os piores quartos, que normalmente são guardados para reservas de sites com desconto. Nosso quarto ficava no andar inferior (solicitamos alto) e de frente para um aliado escuro. A cama era claramente uma de solteiro (reservamos uma cama queen-size) e o banheiro era apenas nojento.

El hotel en sí tiene un bar / restaurante con una acogedora chimenea en el vestíbulo. Si desea visitar este lugar histórico, haga lo que hacen los demás y simplemente visite el bar y el área de la chimenea: estaba lleno. Hay muchos otros hoteles (agradables y limpios) en los que alojarse que se encuentran a poca distancia a pie de esta ubicación. Si realmente debe quedarse aquí, no se moleste en reservar directamente y pagar la tarifa más alta, como hicimos nosotros. Había opciones mucho más baratas a través de otros sitios de reserva. Fuimos directos con la esperanza de evitar las peores habitaciones que normalmente se guardan para reservas de sitios con descuento. Very dumpy room, mold in the bathroom, tiny window that looked at a brick wall. Dark, gloomy, and dirty. The hotel itself has a bar/restaurant with a cozy fireplace off of the lobby. If you want to visit this historic spot, do what everyone else does and just patron the bar and fireplace area - it was packed. There are plenty of other (nice and clean) hotels to stay that are within walking distance of this location.If you really must stay here, don't bother booking direct and paying the higher rate, as we did. There were much cheaper options through other booking sites. We went direct hoping to avoid the worse rooms which are typically saved for discount site reservations. Our room was on the lowest floor (we requested high) and facing onto a dark ally. The bed was clearly a twin (we booked a queen) and the bathroom was just gross.

I've hospedado aqui 4 vezes nos últimos dois anos e retornar devido à sua localização maravilhosa em Greenwich Village, a apenas uma quadra de tantas lojas e restaurantes. O próprio hotel tem uma sensação de "velha NY" ao contrário de tantas opções esterilizadas pela cidade. O pessoal é muito prestativo e o café-bar, o restaurante e o bar de cocktails são uma delícia. Eu recomendaria que você obtenha um quarto maior se você ficar por mais de algumas noites ou se viajar como um casal. Mesmo os quartos maiores são pequenos, mas todos estão bem decorados e tudo funciona de forma eficiente. Muitos dos quartos maiores têm vista, embora não haja lugares sentados no seu quarto, por isso poderá encontrar-se no acolhedor e popular átrio.

Me he alojado aquí 4 veces en los últimos dos años y regresé debido a su maravillosa ubicación en Greenwich Village, a solo una cuadra de tantas opciones de tiendas y restaurantes. El hotel en sí tiene una sensación de "vieja Nueva York" a diferencia de muchas opciones estériles en la ciudad. El personal es muy servicial y la cafetería, el restaurante y el bar de cócteles son una delicia. Le recomendaría que se aloje en la habitación más grande si se queda por más de un par de noches o si viaja en pareja. Incluso las habitaciones más grandes son pequeñas, pero todas están bien decoradas y todo funciona de manera eficiente. Muchas de las habitaciones más grandes tienen vistas, aunque no hay asientos en su habitación, por lo que es posible que se encuentre pasando el rato en el acogedor y popular vestíbulo.

I've stayed here 4 times in the last couple years and return due to its wonderful location in Greenwich Village just a block or so from so many shopping and dining options. The hotel itself has an "old NY" feel unlike so many sterile options around town. The staff is quite helpful and the coffee bar, restaurant and cocktail bar are a delight. I would recommend that you get the larger room if you are staying for more than a couple nights or if traveling as a couple. Even the larger rooms are small, but all of them are nicely appointed and everything works efficiently. Many of the larger rooms have views, although there is no seating in your room so you may find yourself hanging out in the cozy and popular lobby.
