Had seen the photos they post which makes the hotel look light and airy. It is not. It is small, dark, and old as you would expect of a place where Lord Byron stayed. We paid 200 euro for a double which was a tiny room with a low ceiling, dark, and windows facing the road. The rooms shown on their website are the suites. We refused to stay there and they kindly reimbursed us.

Vegan friendly breakfast! We got guacamole for bread, cooked veggies, soy milk and great variety of sliced fruits for muesli, and also they arranged soy yogurt for the next day when we asked for it. The staff was very friendly and the place is delightful. Highly recommend.

Came here for the spa and afternoon tea. Amazing! Didn't stay at the hotel, but highly recommend the massage (ask for Andreia) and the tea with cakes.

We were dead-tired from traipsing around Sintra all morning (and Lisbon the previous five days); we stopped in here because we didn't want to comb through all the other touristy looking places in town. Best decision of the day - we were seated in a quiet dining room and the food was amazing. I had a roasted lamb shank with the most amazing sweet potato purée I've ever tasted in my life. My husband had grilled octopus which was equally divine. Dessert was a chocolate multi-layer cake concoction to make you swoon! Our server was extremely friendly and helpful, and just so much fun. One of the nicest meals of our trip.

We were recommended to Lawrence by our AirBnB host, and were glad we went to there.
Dinner was amazing. We had duck, sea bass, cod, pork, and octopus among the 6 of us. We also had a green wine - a delightful Albariño, unique to the Iberian peninsula. Desert was local ice cream, crème brûlée, and “the worlds best chocolate cake” (not being a chocolate cake fan, I have to agree with their self assessment on that one).
We were there in January and were the only dinner guests in the restaurant, sadly (off season, but still, how could this place be empty?). Prices were surprisingly modest, considering the quality of the food and wine. Duck for less than 21€? A good bottle of wine for 20€?The most expensive dish on the menu was only 24€.
The meal was fabulous start to finish. Service was delightful. The staff bantered with us a bit, which was great fun. They even remembered which of us wanted room temperature, chilled, or sparkling water. Highly, highly recommended. When you’re in Sintra, have dinner there. Unless you don’t like what’s on the menu, or your tastebuds are broken, you will love the food.
