It seems like this place is now named The Spot at Porpoise Bay, but still listed as Royal Reach Motel, too. It’s been recently renovated, which is still ongoing. The guy at front desk was kind and helpful. We stayed one night in late September, 2022. The room was basic but clean — second floor, facing the water — and it was fine for one night, though I’m not sure I’d want to spend more than one or two nights here. It’s a basic room, good for sleeping. TV, fridge, Keurig coffee maker. I get the feeling the new owners are working hard to make it nicer.

The room had been recently renovated with quality furniture, beds and bathroom fixtures.
However there were many issues:
The tap is installed so you can't turn it on fully without hitting the mirror
The main light switch is behind furniture
There was no smoke detector
The bathroom door didn't close
Some outlets didn't work
The end tables were hung from the wall over half of the outlets
There was no deadbolt or other secure lock
The lamp was missing a bulb
Wiring in cupboard not covered
The parking was limited and there were nails on the pavement

The rooms are nice, belying the exterior of the building. No chair in the room, but they had a small refrigerator, a microwave and television with a good many channels. One thing to be wary of is the tub shower, since the floor is sloped, concave and slippery. Maybe put a towel on the floor. The bathroom is modernized though. And overall the room was clean. It's close to all of downtown Sechelt, but off of the main road, so it's quiet at night.

I'm giving a 4 star review because our room was nicely renovated and very clean with all new bedding and linens. They are still going
through renovations so its understandable that there are minor issues. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again. Bonus is the Lighthouse Pub next door. Exceptional food!

Great little spot. Nice room, clean decorated tastefully with good beds & great shower. You wouldn't know from the outside look, but the rooms are great.
If you're lucky you get a view on the bay
